ADVANCED FEATURES:
FOR THE 1 USER IN 20 WHO GETS DOWN THIS FAR:
-------------------------------------------
The ENV.DAT file is a tiny ASCII file that sets up your HP
Printer to print in either fixed pitch "Courier" font, or
Proportional spacing Times Roman. The defaults are contained in
the file, use an ASCII text editor to modify to your tastes.
NOTE: If you have a CENTER FEED envelope feeder (rather than a
right side feeder) increase the first number by about 13. For
example - proportional,21,120.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The NAMES.DAT file is also an ASCII, fixed length (35 char/field)
comma delimited, (Mail Merge) data file. You can probably use your
same text editor to delete or add names to this file. Just remember
that each line must end in a carrage return-line feed.
HINT: Most database programs can convert an existing database to
this format. You can combine two databases by using the
command <copy data1.dat+data2.dat names.dat> as long as BOTH
data1.dat and data2.dat have 5 fields and 35 characters per
field.
I don't actually expect that anyone will send me money for this
program - but if you feel so inclined, my wife is an active
member of the Wildlife Federation and anything sent to me will be
used to help save our wildlife. (That's the animals, not our
lifestyle!) - Bill Flynn 11/02/91
